Mission Week 60; Gent Week 4

The work here is going well. We have a couple in Brugge who are both excited for their baptism on Sunday. They were both super-excited in Sacrament Meeting, when the service was re-announced (they were late because she has some health problems), and they're both super-pumped for the baptism next week. We have another couple from Nigeria, who want to be baptized, but they're having trouble making it to church, just because of a drive to/from Schiphol (I don't get why; it would've been cheaper to go to Brussels) for him on both Sundays, and she went to Nigeria last week. But then we also have a date set with the nine-year-old boy whose parents were baptized in November. He'll be getting baptized on June 16 (It would be the ninth, but that's Stake Conference. We had a good morning of contacting with our mission leader on Saturday, and after that we had an appointment with a man who lives next-door to a less-active family. He said that he'd wanted to talk to us before, when he'd seen us, but that he had never gotten up the courage. But he's excited to be learning more about the gospel, and he said that he's going to read the Book of Mormon to see if it's from God. Today we're going to Brugge to spend some time just seeing the city, and then we're going to go to the baptismal interview with our investigators. They're the first couple to be baptized in Brugge in over five years. The branch really needs it. It will help build morale, and they'll prove to the branch that they can get people in church. Yesterday we went to church there, and there were five investigators (the branch president is a missionary work machine). On Tuesday we had a really long day of traveling, waking up in Antwerpen and getting in a van to go to Zoetermeer for the temple. It was really good. I miss being able to go more regularly. After that, we had a quick "zone conference" in the chapel in Leiden, where we were given food and told what we were going to do. We were also told to stop being slackers and act on what we've learned in previous zone conferences. Then we went to Keukenhof, and it was awesome. I'm kind of disappointed that I won't be able to go again as a missionary. But I did get a lot of pictures. I've put on probably as many as I could fit. Apparently you're not supposed to walk the grass at Keukenhof. And there's a sign in Gent that says that food drinks people. Keukenhof was amazing! I want to go again! Grrrr! Oh, well. There's always another chance when I'm rich and famous. We almost got our fatal stairs fixed on Saturday. But then they (finally) realized that they were poorly constructed, so they're just going to replace them. It'll be nice having stairs that are all parallel to the ground. That's pretty much all I have over here. I love you all. The Church is true.
