Zone Conference went well. Elder Taylor and I came back with a new determination to do our best, and we've seen some improvements for it. We've been contacting a lot more people, and yesterday we were determined to not go into Priesthood or Sunday School without an investigator, so we spent an hour and a half contacting people outside. We didn't have any luck with that, but we did get an appointment with a person some previous missionaries had found when we looked him up last night. He said that he didn't have the same ideas as us, like how he believes in a spirit world. We're going to need to clarify what he means by that.
It's funny that you ask about the bikes, because on Saturday we replaced Elder Taylor's gear shift; the whole thing, from the part on the handlebars to the part that does the actual shifting. But now it works a lot better, and isn't falling apart (literally) every mile.
It sounds like when I get home next year I'm going to need to go check out a new shopping center in addition to the library. And the zoo. If they have polar bears. But it's cool that the construction downtown is finally wrapping up in at least part of the city.
On Thursday night, Elder Taylor and I heard the sound of something moving, and we've both had experience with mice, so on Friday morning we went and got some mousetraps. We baited one with cheese (classic), and the other one with peanut butter with walnut pieces sprinkled on top (the only visible sign we had of the mouse was the holes in the nets holding my walnuts and hazelnuts). On Saturday morning we woke up and Elder Taylor saw that the trap with the cheese had caught a mouse. We're hoping that because of how quickly we caught a mouse after hearing it, and the days that the other trap hasn't caught anything, there was only the one mouse. But we'll see.
The weather here in Nederland is warming up, as well, and in two weeks we won't need to wear our suit coats every day (after Conference). I'm super-excited for conference, and I wonder where I'll be watching it (transfers are next Wednesday, and I've been in Alkmaar a while). But that's pretty much all the news I have from over here. The Church is true. I know that the Book of Mormon is true. I love you all.
