Mission Week 59; Gent Week 3

I'll start out with telling you how the work is going here in Gent and Brugge. We have a couple in each city that's preparing for baptism. Patrick and Martine, in Brugge, are Belgian. They've both developed really strong testimonies, and earlier they were pestering us about getting the service put together on time and letting them know when it is. Andrew and Doris, in Aalst (in the Gent branch) are from Nigeria, and are currently very busy opening an African store. They heard the Word of Wisdom on Saturday, and Andrew said he can give up his occasional drink and Doris said she can give up her almost daily cup of coffee. They both said they need "more words of wisdom." We also have a family in the branch who want their nine-year-old son to be baptized. They've waited so long because, first of all, the parents got baptized in November, and the son has autism. But he's really enjoyed everything about the gospel and the church, and he understood the lesson we gave him yesterday super-well. He's super-smart. And his whole family loves the gospel. His dad is already in the branch presidency, and the parents got their patriarchal blessings on Sunday. When you told me about your lunch with the other managers, I thought of when the county wasn't hiring anybody and half the leadership of the library system went somewhere in one or two cars, and someone commented that if there was an accident, the library system would be in trouble. I'm glad you got a chance to relax with the other managers. I'm glad that the weather looks like it'll be cooperating. That'll be really nice. We've had bipolar weather here lately. So it's just being normal for Europe. The first time through the temple really is overwhelming. Speaking of which, I get to go tomorrow! I'll try to also get a lot of pictures of Keukenhof, and I'll probably just let you see them when I get home. As I told Shani in the email with the picture, I'm about 6'4" now. Or at least I'm as tall as Elder Schwartz, who claims that he's that tall. I also have no idea how much I weigh. It'll be really interesting to see that, with all the waffles I've had the last three weeks. That's pretty much it for this week. The Church is true. The Book of Mormon is true. Temples are amazing. I love you all.
