Mission week 19, Breda week 5

So, we took advantage of the fact that Independence Day was on a Monday, and we had a district P-Day in Maastricht at the American Memorial Graveyard that´s there. It has a good chunk of the American soldiers who were killed in the retaking of the Netherlands during World War II. It was an awesome experience, and I could feel that it was hallowed ground. I got a ton of pictures, and I´ll send them all to you (or at least most) as soon as I´m done typing this. Now we´re currently waiting for the pizzas to finish cooking. They´re delicious pizzas, so I´m excited. It´s a pretty good Independence Day.
We´re actually celebrating Elder Fritzler´s birthday with the ward mission leader and his family on Wednesday. It´ll be pretty exciting. Especially because the ward mission leader´s wife is a good cook.
It´s awesome that you´re going to the zoo. I wish I´d been able to go while I was still in Rotterdam. Hopefully I´ll be somewhere closer to Rotterdam or Antwerp in a later area, so I´ll be able to go on P-Day. Gideon will probably enjoy the hike. I enjoy all the hikes I do, and I´m not a very outdoorsy person.
It´s really good that my little brothers are getting opportunities to earn money. They just need to get into the habit of saving as much as they can as soon as possible. That way they´ll never be desperate for a job like all the ones I've gotten.
Last Tuesday, Elder Fritzler and I were waiting for the train from Tillburg to Breda, and the thermometer on the side of the building across the tracks said that it was 42 degrees Celsius, which converts to about 107.6 degrees Fahrenheit. We´re thinking it was more like 97 or 98 degrees, but it was still super-hot.
I still haven´t gotten any packages, but like I said, the first one is in the hands of Elder Mickelsen and Elder Osmond, so I think it´ll be fine until I can get it.
The missionary work is going, but slowly. We're getting in a few lessons a week, and we keep trying to find new investigators constantly. On Saturday, we walked 3.5 miles to a small village to talk to a guy who ordered a copy of the Book of Mormon, and he wasn't home, so we spent some time finding. During that time, I started talking to a guy in Dutch, and he freaked out because he was tired of people coming to his door and trying to speak to him in English. So I guess my American accent's still pretty bad.
Other than today, this week's just been a normal week, with me going on exchanges with Elder Matthews in Antwerp. We spent most of the day stuck in traffic.
I know that the Church is true, and that the Book of Mormon is true. I also know that the Gift of Tongues is real.
I love you all.
