Mission Week 29, Eindhoven Week 9

Dear everybody,
It's good that they're starting the fence. Privacy is good, and a motivation to get the back yard clean is good, too. A bike would be a really good use for Gideon's prize money, especially if he finds one that will last him a while. And a place to keep it that's out of the weather would be good, as well. He should just make sure he gets a good lock. If he can find one and can get it on whatever bike he decides to get, an achtersloot (the built-in lock they have over here) would be a good idea, too.
I'm glad that Megan's having a fun social life even though she's not in school at the moment. It's never fun being the bum with whom nobody wants to spend time. (I know all about that.)
Going to the temple every week is good for everybody. You can never work on the salvation of your ancestors fast enough. I miss the temple. I haven't been to one since the week before Easter. But I get to go next month! :)
Is Andrew shunning Nick for not telling him about his engagement personally? I know I would probably shun my close friends if I found out about their engagements through Facebook.
I was super-sad to hear about Brother Casper. My first time really interacting with him was when I turned twelve, and he was super-active with helping the youth. I can thankfully get comfort, along with the rest of his family, from knowing that we'll all be able to see him again. (Can you send me a copy of the obituary?)
On Friday, both of the free newspapers that you can get on public transportation had massive full-page spreads about the attack on the World Trade Center. One of them was full of numbers, and they were really interesting to see. Especially the amount of people who were there on a normal workday to the people who died in the attack.
On Friday I decided to make a cake. I baked a yellow cake with chocolate frosting and black-and-white (the closest thing they have to rainbow) sprinkles. It was delicious.
This last week has been slow, but also full of good experiences. We met with two of our three investigators this week. We would have met with all three, but the enormity of our ward boundaries means that there are only two men who live in the same city as our third investigator, Isa, and they were both busy (the bishop was doing bishop-related stuff all day, and his son was in Antwerp for a YSA thing).
Yesterday we had a dinner appointment with a family from Riverton (13400ish, right by your library, Mom), who are staying here for a few months while Brother Jones is on a business trip. Annabell, their oldest daughter is eight, and is getting baptized here in Eindhoven on Friday night. We obviously focused the spiritual thought on baptism, and when her mom asked her what the Holy Ghost is, she said something that made me think of Alma 32:23. She said "He's Jesus's friend, and when Jesus needs to tell us something, he'll send the Holy Ghost to tell us." That simple sentence given by an adorable eight-year-old girl is a strong, powerful explanation of the Holy Ghost, and I'm going to try to remember it forever.
The Church is true, and by being baptized, we follow the example set by our Savior. I love you all.
