Our appointment with Pastor Koopmans went pretty well. The Brubakers were there as well, and every time he brought up a concern, President Brubaker seemed to have a way of solving it. He said that this is a new "dispensation" in his life, and that he needs some time to adjust to it, but we haven't moved his baptismal date, yet.
Our apartment visit went well. They kept commenting on how clean it was, but other than that they just checked our CO2 detector and smoke detector, as well as our fire extinguisher. They gave us our new DVD player, and it's been receiving some use as we've watched Preach My Gospel DVDs and General Conference. After our appointment, we were shutting the gate of the church parking lot again, and Sister Brubaker got out of the car, because she'd forgotten to take a picture at our house. So when you see a picture of us, it'll be of us closing the gate.
I'm hoping that the letters I've been sent regarding the trip to Florida are waiting by our front door as I type this. I'm excited to read more about it. Does Gideon have a copy of the trophy picture that he can frame? That'll be a cool thing to keep through the years. Where are they going to put the trophy?
It's cool that you can finally have the Summer Reading party at your library. It's probably better for the library that it's there, and not at the park.
I LOVE the Gabasas! They make me smile. :)
I'm glad that Oma is doing better. Being sick is never fun. When you visit them, tell them I say hi.
So, transfers are this Wednesday, but I'm staying in Eindhoven! :) It's so relieving to actually be staying in a city. So now I'll be at four transfers, three cities, and also three companions. So it looks like I'll most likely be staying in Eindhoven for two more transfers. Last night was hectic. Everybody was calling everybody else to figure out what is happening with transfers, but it took us until this morning to figure out what was happening to us, probably because we're both staying. We even knew about somebody getting transfered before he did.
Last Wednesday, Elder Schwartz and I went to teach the first lesson to a girl who has been attending church with her friend for the past while, and she said that she wants to be baptized and already knows that the Book of Mormon is true. We asked her to pray about a date on which she wants to be baptized, and yesterday she told us that she feels good about October 24th. That'll be a good combination birthday present/P-day. I was so close to having two baptisms in Rotterdam, and then I got transferred out right before it happened.
This week has been happily busy. We've been dashing back and forth across the area to do things from eating to trimming a massive, ugly tree, to teaching lessons. Missionary work is so satisfying.
The Church is true. I love you all.
