It's so cool that you and Gideon get to go to Florida. I'm so jealous. The weather here hasn't even been close to 70° and sunny. We've been getting a lot of rain and cold. Yesterday I went downstairs to get some breakfast, and I saw that our back yard was flooded.
One thing you might want to look into is a screen that blocks one side but lets the other side see through. We had them on all of our windows in Breda. It'd solve the bathroom window problem. Hopefully the fence will go up soon. I'm not sure about the rest of the family, but I personally enjoy privacy.
Tell Jonathan congratulations from me, and tell him (or Aunt Shani), that I want to see pictures and that they can just email them to me.
I'm excited to hear about Matt's call, and I have a (very) slight hope that he'll be learning Dutch. But wherever he goes, it'll be the right place for him.
This last week, we just got slammed by bad news after bad news, but yesterday was a good day. We had our pastor investigator in Sunday school, and a recent convert brought a friend who's interested in learning more about the gospel. We found a couple of potential investigators on one street yesterday afternoon, one of whom is looking for a church where she can give her input. Our church is perfect for her! Then again, it's perfect for everybody; they just don't know it yet. :P
Yesterday I taught the Elders' Quorum lesson. It was on the Law of Chastity, and due to my imperfect Dutch and an American we had visiting, as well as the fact that some people are more comfortable in English than Dutch, it was in Nederengels. I'm told I did pretty well, but that was because of all the input that was given. It's really different from the last time I taught an Elders' Quorum a third of the world away. We also taught the Law of Chastity to our pastor investigator on Tuesday. When we asked him if he would live it, he joked about how he's living it more thoroughly than most people because he's living the law of Celibacy.
Last Monday, Harry (the world's best 81-year-old member missionary) made me eat some herring, which is a very popular thing in the Netherlands. I say that raw fish isn't good for you. Thankfully, it didn't make me sick like the ostirich he made me eat last month.
The Church is true. I love all of you.
