Mission Week 70, Gent Week 14
Things are going really well here. Elder Praag, my new companion, is super-enthusiastic and energetic. So basically he's my polar opposite. But I'm starting to figure out how I can best work with him. Now I just need to figure out how to type efficiently on the French keyboards here in the library. We started emailing here because of the move and because it's cheaper (free) and higher-quality than the internet café where we've emailed before. And this library is semi-intelligent, meaning you can check out materials for free; you only have to pay to renew and place holds. And you can reserve specific computers for a specific time. That's nice.
I think that living in the married student housing would be really good for Shani and Kyle. It's too bad that the house is being sold, but they'll figure something out.
We've been having another typical European summer here. So it's as bi-polar as Pepper.
It's really funny that you made the stain-remover connection. On Friday when we were getting most of the furnishings for our apartment (curtains, good chairs, closets), one of the senior couple sisters spent about fifteen minutes talking about all sorts of ways to remove stains from clothing and sheets.
I'll have to go home and find a Haagen Dazs in the phone book. I haven't seen any here. But I'll definitely do that. I know that at Australian Ice Cream, I can buy an empty waffle cone for twenty cents. But if I only ever get a waffle or a cone with ice cream in it.
Yesterday I ordained Patrick to the Aaronic Priesthood. It was nerve-racking; specifically in Dutch. I also found out five minutes before the start of sacrament meeting that I was expected to give a talk. Nobody had ever asked me before, but thankfully it was only five minutes and on a topic of my choice. So I did it on obedience. That was the easiest topic at such short notice. I just read a lot of scriptures from 1 Nephi. Nephi's a really good example of obedience.
That's about all I have for this week; but here's a bit of interesting information. One of the new missionaries from last week was in my graduating class. The Church is true. I love you all.
