Mission Week 63, Gent Week 7
There's going to be a mini-Fred! I hope he has hair. :P I'm also
super-excited for the Ellises for having a girl. They're still on my
slacker-repentance list. I haven't written a letter in too long.
Victor's already going back to Brazil? Wow. That was fast. But
then again, when I got to Gent we were told that one of the
missionaries who went home six weeks ago would be back the week after
he went home. That was fast.
The washing machine AND the dishwasher broke? That's really
unfortunate. When I was in Alkmaar, the only place where I've had a
double-sink, I would stack the dirty dishes in one side, keeping the
other side completely empty, and when the one side was full, I'd fill
the other one with water and wash it. Isn't it awful being the only
one in a house with five or more people and being (one of) the only
one(s) who does dishes? It's not fun. What shorts could I not find? I
don't remember. Were they part of one of my track uniforms?
It's cool that you're getting around to working on the basement.
It'll be really nice to have that done. We were supposed to have our
stairs replaced on Saturday. The workers were supposed to be at our
house at 8:00. At 9:00, with the senior couple who'd driven all the
way from the office at our apartment, we got a call from the landlord,
asking if the workers had gotten there yet. I told him I'd call him
when they did, and then at 10:00, I called and asked him if he'd heard
anything from them. He called them, and found out that the stairs
hadn't come in yet, and they hadn't bothered to tell anybody. That was
super-frustrating. I was really looking forward to not needing to skip
half of the stairs.
That's basically it for this week. Elder Douglas and I are
staying together for another transfer. I've put in the picture from
the baptism last week, and a picture of a street sign that my nerdy
friends (Jordan, Alex, etc. [I hope they read this]) will appreciate.
I thought it was super-awesome. It was be-awesome!
The Church is true. Ik hou van jullie! (I love y'all!)
