Things actually have been picking up this week. We've gotten several appointments with some of our investigators with whom we haven't been able to meet in a while, and we've also managed to find several new investigators.
Guess what. We have snow! :) I went to get some water right before I started studying this morning, and I saw that the ceiling of the apartment behind us was white. Consequently, my fingers are not as nimble as they usually are, even though I've been wearing gloves.
So, here are some statistics of my mission so far: Transfers: 7; Companions: 8; Cities: 4; Watches Broken: 4. That last one is kind of disappointing, especially because I expected it to last a while. But now I'm using one that I found in the apartment, that's a really good sport watch, with a band that completely surrounds the outside of the watch (three of the four watches have had the band break on me).
I love Victor! I thought about him on Friday. I would look at my watch and think, "Victor's probably almost home." And that fable is awesome. I had no idea that Jessica Winward was going to serve a mission. But that's awesome that she's going to Italy. They have really, really, really good food there. I miss good Italian food. Is she going to only be in the MTC for three weeks because she knows Italian already?
I'm glad my siblings are still having fun with all their activities. It's really cool how quickly Shani's been able to settle on all these things for her wedding. I've never heard anything about the planning process, but I've always thought that it'd take longer to decide on everything.
So, on Saturday, Elder Taylor and I were walking through the centrum of Alkmaar and we heard the bells from the big church. It wasn't unusual, until I realized that I recognized the tune. I listened closely and was kind of surprised when I identified it. "It's 'Hotel California.!'" Elder Taylor didn't believe me. "No it's not." And then he listened. "No way! It is!" We were really surprised, and it took a while to get over the surprise of what used to be a massive Catholic church playing Hotel California on the bells. Now if only Europeans knew about Lifehouse...(Just kidding.)
That's pretty much the only interesting thing that's happened this week, aside from me taking the chain guard off of my bike, deciding to leave it off, and trying to feed a llama yesterday. He took the bread out of my hand, then dropped it on the ground :(.
That's about all I have for this week. The Church is true. Charity is awesome. I love you all.
