MTC, Week 8

Hi.
I am super-excited to get to my mission. We leave in five days. I doubt I'll be able to check my email, but I'm allowed to call from the airport on Monday morning. Our flight leaves from Salt Lake to JFK at 10:45, and we get to JFK around 3:45 our time, and then we have layover until 5:29 our time, so I'll probably call sometime in that time frame. Where should I call.

It's cool that you found something that was in our family. When you told me the story about our ancestors migrating from Denmark, I went a few doors down to the Danish classroom and announced that I'm 1/16th Danish. The teacher, who's from Denmark, got really excited.

Aaron injured his arm? What was he doing? Coach Henslee doesn't have his athletes do anything that can injure arms. I hope it heals.

So, my older siblings got to go to a fireside with John Bytheway on Sunday. I wonder if there's any way I can top that...Oh, yeah. We had a devotional with Elder Scott last night. :P It was really amazing. He talked about how we need to be guided by the spirit in missionary work. He also talked about how the Savior's the one who issues mission calls. Nobody else has anything to do with calls or changes if something happens. About halfway through the devotional, Elder Scott said that through the Holy Apostleship, he was conferring upon all the missionaries going to a foreign speaking mission the gift of tongues. It was really cool. And at the end of his talk, he said that he doesn't believe that Jesus Christ is a glorified, resurrected being. He knows that Jesus Christ is a glorified, resurrected being. It was really, really powerful. We didn't know who it was until right before the devotional started, and everybody's been hoping for an apostle for as long as I've been here. Then the MTC presidency started entering, and right behind President Brown was an old man who I recognized as an apostle, and everybody stood up, and it was like being hit by a spiritual train. It was an amazing ending to the best day in the MTC (foursquare earlier in the day was fast and fun, and Brother Bond showed us pictures from his mission, because yesterday was the last day we had him).

I think you meant to say that Shani and Andrew are planning on attending the meeting at the Conference Center. I'm kind of going to be across the Atlantic by that time. How are they going to be doing YSA stakes?

Did you get the letter I sent you? I underlined the thing talking about how I'm supposed to bring at least $150 for buying a bike. I have no idea how we're going to work that out. If you can figure it out, send me a Dear Elder message with that and the details about when and where you want me to call.

I love you all.

P.S. If the Easter Bunny hasn't sent the package yet, and can find my black Astrojax and/or my harmonica, I'd be grateful if they were included. If not, oh well. (My harmonica should either be on my cricket table, on one of the bookshelves, or in my Rubbermaid shoebox. My Astrojax should be somewere similar.)
