Mission Week 67; Gent Week 11

We'll be moving to an apartment across the street from Ikea, really close to the church. The reason is that our current house is falling apart (literally) and it's not in a safe neighborhood. To make a long story short, I'll just say that nobody feels comfortable having LDS missionaries living in a neighborhood where most of the people believe in Jesus as a prophet, but not as the Christ. (A. C. Phlegm.) From the stories he's told us, Dad seems to be pretty skilled at getting out of jury duty, if he even gets called to it. I hope he doesn't have to go down or, if he does, that he gets sent home quickly. I don't understand why he has to go to the courthouse downtown. It makes no sense. Libraries are amazing! I hope that the are where I go to school has a decent library (system), or else I might just check out books when I'm home and ship them to the library when they're due. But hopefully I won't have to do that. So, you know how deodorant says to stop use if irritation occurs? That's not fun. Thankfully I don't stand out in a crowd in Europe because of any smells. Let's just say a skunk would have people saying, "That smells good." The work here in Gent is going really well. We currently have five people preparing for baptism on a specific date, Laurens Geens being baptized Saturday of next week. We had two other investigators ask when they would be baptized when we weren't even shooting for a specific date with them. And last week we found five new investigators. Elder Douglas and I are really pumped to work really hard now. Yesterday morning, I finished the Book of Mormon for my third time since New Year's Day. And I got up in sacrament meeting and bore my testimony about it. It was the first time I'd ever borne my testimony in fast and testimony meeting without being asked by the bishop/branch president to introduce myself. It felt so good. I thought about how if we don't share something, we lose it, and if we share it willingly, we get it increased. So I figured that the best way to increase my testimony was to share it more often. Today we're going to go to the castle in Gent. I'm excited, even though it's raining (typical Europe). Actually, I should be excited BECAUSE it's raining. That's pretty much it from Belgium. The Church is true. The Book of Mormon is true. I love all y'all. (I thought I'd throw in a little variety.)
