First of all, I'm soaked. :) Secondly, I'm being transferred to Breda. Third, the Stolk family didn't get baptized last week, due to it having not been announced in sacrament meeting last week. However, it was announced yesterday, and they're getting baptized on Saturday. Unfortunately, it'll be with two missionaries they've never met present; they're whitewashing Rotterdam Zuid (two elders who have never been here before).
According to the text I just got and our map application, the address of the apartment in Breda is:
Monseigneur De Vetstraat 87
4817 JZ Breda
Netherlands
(Mgr. is how monseigneur was abbreviated in the text)
Hopefully the envelope comes before we leave on Wednesday. If not, though, it'll probably get to me through the office or a senior couple.
This week we've had a ton of cancelled appointments, so we haven't really had the opportunity to do much other than finding. We did, however, teach a lady who had been dropping appointments for forever, and then she had some time right when we had two appointments fall through, so we taught her. She understood everything. It was amazing.
It's awesome that my brothers got so many awards (and that Aaron can sprint fast enough to get Presidential Fitness). If they keep track of the certificates, they could probably use those to fluff up a resumé.
Dutch has been getting a little bit easier to understand. I can't yet understand it when people speak really fast, but there aren't really that many people who do speak that fast, so I think I'll be fine for the most part. If you ever do start using Mango to learn Dutch, make sure you pay close attention to pronounciations; they're a pain. ("Leiden" (to guide) and "Lijden" (to suffer) are pretty close in pronounciation.)
I think that Shani will really enjoy her calling. Little kids are awesome. Since coming on my mission, I've realized that I'm really excited to be a father. It's awesome; Amelia Stolk, who's just barely starting to say a few words, just loves me. Every time we're over there, she's busy climbing on the table in front of me the whole time, and she shakes my hand and waves and says hi when she sees me at church.
This last half week, the members in Spijkenisse and a few in our ward have been force-feeding me a ton. I've barely been able to get to the metro station to go home every night since Thursday. It's amazing, but ik zal dik worden (I'll get fat) in this country.
I love you all. I'm excited to get the package and hear from you again.
